Looking After Your Jewellery
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Whilst all metals are prone to discolouration, Copper is more likely to tarnish because of a chemical reaction called oxidation - when copper is exposed to oxygen. Over a period of time a blue-green patina layer forms on the copper that some people find attractive and this can sometimes rub off on to the skin. This is perfectly normal and will wash off your skin with soap and water. Other factors that can accelerate the tarnishing process include exposure to water, sweat, lotions, and oils from your skin.
Maintenance Tips

Use a lint-free or microfibre cloth to gently wipe your copper jewellery before and after you wear it.

-

Cleansing your Crystal Gemstones
AND WHY YOU SHOULD DO IT
If you are new to crystal healing, you may be surprised to learn that cleansing your crystals is an essential part of crystal care. Cleansing your crystals regularly will help remove built-up negative energy that the crystal may absorb while you are using it. Built up negative energy can block the crystal from vibrating at its fullest potential, preventing the stone from resonating at its highest frequency.
Ways to Cleanse your Gemstones
A few common ways to cleanse your crystal gemstones include
-
Smudging - the use of sage to create smoke to immerse your gemstones in.
-
Sunlight or moonlight - The bathing of gemstones in direct light of a full moon or in sunlight for a few hours.
-
Running water - Simply holding your stones under running water for a few minutes
There are other ways that people believe to be effective, but it is important to do your research and choose a method best suited to you and the gemstones that you have.
